Cold and Colds

          It is that time of the year, isn't it? I am talking about the cold time of the year. We have had so much snow and cold this winter. The ground is still white with the remains of winter storms. And I have a cold. My nose itches, my throat hurts, and I feel sneezy. It seems like just too much that they would come at the same time.

          Today I was a distant pastor. I love to share the Word, but I don't need to share my cold with the congregation. I waved instead of shook hands, and I kept backing up to avoid the germ sharing! I hope it worked!

          I think we Christians sometimes worry about sharing our faith in the same way. We back off, not wanting to give other people our religion. We don't know if they will want it. We aren't sure they are ready for our God.

          The Good News is contagious. If we are not careful, we will spread it to others, by shaking their hands, and by friendly conversation. Wouldn't that be wonderful! Infecting all of our acquaintances with Christ!

          Keep you cold to yourself, but share Christ with everyone! It's contagious!

          (I wonder if Jesus ever had a cold?)
